Coach Rachel Maupin
Coach Maupin began playing soccer in fourth grade as a way to develop stronger leg muscles. She quickly fell in love with the game and was asked to play with the local select team, Jerseyville Strykers Soccer Club. As the only female member of the team, she remained with the Strykers through her eighth grade year and developed a certain fortitude that created continued success through her high school years.
During high school, she was a four-year varsity letter recipient and received several team awards: Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year (2x’s), an Most Valuable Player. Off the field she was a member of the National Honor Society, participated in several organizations, including WYSE, Math League, Scholastic Bowl, and Co-op. Coach Maupin graduated from Jersey High in 2005.
While at Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL, Coach Maupin played soccer and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education with a Middle School Endorsement.
She began her career in Bunker Hill as a middle school mathematics teacher. She taught there for two years and coached track and started a math club. Her career has been interrupted as she focuses on beginning her family with her high school sweetheart. They have two young boys who keep them quite busy.
Coach Maupin most recently helped coach a youth soccer team for the Jerseyville Parks and Recreation Department. She is excited to bring her passion and experiences to the Lady Panthers high school soccer team.
